An Advent Calendar for Everyone in the Family
Our family loves celebrating Advent. In fact, it’s the Christmas activity that is most-requested by our kids.
I remember, when I was young, that we would get these cardboard chocolate advent calendars. They had little perforated doors marked with each day from December 1st to the 24th. We would have to hunt to find the right day, then open the door and see what the chocolate was inside.
We have used many different kinds of Advent Activities over the years, but we still add in those cardboard Christmas countdowns. We’ve done Lego Activity Calendars, Playmobil Advent Calendars, and we added a DIY Advent Calendar like this one several years ago.
We generally fill each pocket with candy for each of the kids and a small scripture reading. The kids love being able to “do Advent” each evening before Christmas.
