As a frugal mom, I bet you’ve spent a bit of time wondering – “Is Amazon Prime Worth the Money?” I know I did for quite some time. And, I can tell you now that it is definitely worth the money.
I held off for awhile because I just wasn’t sure it was worth spending the money each year, but there are so many benefits that most people would be crazy NOT to have a membership.
It has saved me money and time in so many ways that I can’t even count. I go to Amazon multiple times per week. Not just to make purchases, but to do research and planning, too. On top of that, I use many of the other benefits that are included in the membership and each one saves me money or improves my life.
This post contains affiliate links. This supports my family and allows me to keep providing you with great resources. You can trust that I only promote products I love or would use myself. Read my full disclosure for more details.

1. Free 2-day shipping
This is by far the most common reason that people pay for Amazon Prime. It was always annoying to try to add extra things to my cart in order to reach the free shipping threshold. As a mom, I’m always running out of things and a dash to the store is not that simple. Now, I just order it from Amazon and it shows up right at my door.
Now, though, I just add things to my cart or even use 1-click ordering to save time.
2. Earn Credits if You Choose No-Rush Shipping
We love our 2-day shipping, but there are many times that we really don’t need it. If you choose no-rush shipping, Amazon will reward you with credits ($1-$5) that you can use on other services. Yeah! Earn FREE products by being patient.
3. Prime Video for Movies and TV Shows
There really are a lot of great movies and TV shows available on Prime. Seriously, more than you could ever watch. And, the Amazon Originals are amazing! They’ve really outdone themselves.
I gave up all satellite and cable TV years ago and have not missed it at all. We now use our Amazon Fire Stick (which you can buy for under $40) to watch all kinds of apps … Hulu, Netflix, Prime TV, HBO, there are a ton of channels available for free.
4. Keeps Me Out of the Stores
As a busy mom, I just don’t have time to be running to the store all the time. I also have that $100 Target problem. You know … the one where you run in for shampoo, but you end up coming out with $100 worth of stuff that you probably could have done without.
YEP, that’s me.
With Amazon Prime, I can buy my shampoo, school supplies, groceries, clothes, tools, etc. all at one store without leaving the house. That’s Time and Money, Baby!

5. Amazon Music
I used to use Spotify and Pandora, but I added Amazon Music to my phone a couple years ago and I Love It! There are so many great playlists to choose from. I also love that I can listen to entire albums from my favorite artists. They even allow downloading, so I don’t have to be connected to wifi in order to listen to my music.
