I desperately needed some quick and easy DIY Simple Teacher Christmas Gifts this week. Why? Well, because I procrastinate like crazy. It’s not that I sit around eating bonbons, I’m just a busy mom (aren’t we all?) and things happen when they absolutely need to happen. I thought you may be in the same boat and decided not to just worry about myself, but to share with all of you.
Teacher Christmas Gifts
It’s the time of year again where we want to remind our kids to appreciate the people in their lives who have invested in them. There are so many different people that I want my kids to be grateful for. Not just at Christmas but all year.
The thing is, at Christmastime, kids can get totally ME focused and as often as I can, I want to bring them back to the idea that “giving is better than receiving”.
These DIY Teacher Christmas Gifts are just a small way for them to show recognition to the teachers in their lives. They will work as neighbor gifts as well as teacher gifts.
How to Choose a Great Teacher Gift
What do teachers want?
I have been informed (kindly, btw), that teachers really want gifts that are useful. Things that simplify their lives and things that are actually useful make the best teacher gifts.
Don’t give them something that they have to just put up on a shelf. I know … those apple ornaments and coffee mugs are cute, but they’ve gotten a ton of them before. They don’t have any more room on their desk or on their shelves for apple paperweights and cute doodads.
Start by snooping and figuring out what kinds of things your child’s teacher likes. You could ask one of their coworkers or you could even have your student pay attention to some clues.
- What’s their favorite color?
- Do they drink coffee or tea?
- Do they have children at home?
- Do they have any particular hobbies?
If you do some brainstorming with your kids, you can come up with some ideas for gift cards or personalized gifts. If you’re looking for something super simple and faster to put together, use these ideas that I’ve come up with. For each of the gifts, we just bought the items, tied on a ribbon, signed the free printable gift tag and attached it.

Tea Teacher Gift
If one of your child’s teachers is a tea drinker, this is a great gift. This inexpensive, but fancy tea is so good. So many people are giving out coffee cards and gifts, but this one fits the tea drinker perfectly.

Cookie Dough Teacher Gift
Most teachers are busy moms, too. That means that they’re struggling to get everything done for the holidays, just like us. Give them a hand by gifting them this easy to use cookie dough. It’ll take one more thing off their to-do list.

Germs spread around the classroom like crazy. I can see this one being their favorite gift of all. Disinfecting wipes make it so easy to wipe down all the surfaces in the classroom to help keep your teacher healthy.

The printout comes with 6 pages. There is one page of all the designs combined and there is a page for each design with multiple copies on a single page. Once you’ve downloaded it, just print the pages you need, preferably on cardstock and cut them out.
Punch a hole through the gift tag and have your student write a nice note on the back or just sign their name if they’re too young. If they’re little, they can even dictate a nice note for you to write out for them.
I hope these teacher gift ideas make your life easier. Merry Christmas!
